In the 6th minute, Cipriano Joachim fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Alejandro Jerrald scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejandro Jerrald got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Jacobo Mark got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alvar Öberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Orlanda hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Joachim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cipriano Joachim took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Alejandro Jerrald could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Eladio in the 34th minute. Alvar Öberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Alejandro Jerrald scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 3-0. Alvar Öberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvar Öberg was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Rio Tercero. 57 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's goalkeeper Alvar Öberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 61stth minute of the game Alejandro Jerrald who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alejandro Jerrald in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Mark in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Jerrald in the 70th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Club Atletico Rio Tercero fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Fred Karlsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Öberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico Rio Tercero from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Alvar Öberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Club Atletico Rio Tercero made a substitution. Hector Arnas replaced Fred Karlsson. In the 88th minute, Alejandro Jerrald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. The supporters of Club Atletico Rio Tercero booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball.
