Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trifon Tihov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Laurenciano came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcial Laurenciano's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Моряците's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Siluna Barra came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Siluna Barra in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siluna Barra having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Laurenciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After taking down the ball on Моряците's corner Vidyo Karakolev fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Lacasa quite easily take care of the ball. Joel Gaona was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Mexico's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
