If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Islam Slimani made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Lu Hong Qiang successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Adam Zacharczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After having played for 60 minutes, Islam Slimani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mauro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Islam Slimani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Mauro's goalkeeper Lu Hong Qiang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Espiga. After 72 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. When Luca Espinar fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
