Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 2nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of play forced Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa Coutinho in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walmir Dias quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Dias came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

In the 52nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walmir Dias quite easily take care of the ball. Ecuador's Luis Andino was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 52nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmir Dias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Walmir Dias quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Róbson Sergipano hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walmir Dias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Rafa Coutinho fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s protests and gave Rafa Coutinho a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Leopoldo Capixaba got a free kick in the 70th minute. Cristian Sancho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Dias came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Toninho da Cunha hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Luís Fabiano Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Walmir Dias however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Walmir Dias made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Coutinho in the 93rd minute of play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
