Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 5th minute of play. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 8th minute. After 10th play minutes Kurt Hamrin shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Kurt Hamrin notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Magno Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 38 played minutes Real Santista FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Vale. 40 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Hamrin came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Esiquio Villaspasa took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. In the 79th minute of the match Vito Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Miroslav Raab notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miroslav Raab in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. There was no doubt that Real Santista FC were the better team. Real Santista FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
