In the 10th minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Kristiyan Bunev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Bratan Kalinov in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paraguay's Xavier Zoido. Maksim Ganchev's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maksim Ganchev helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Опълченците getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Maksim Ganchev hit a great ball. Francisco Gaos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Slaveyko Halov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Krum Konsulov's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Krum Konsulov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Опълченците was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Krum Konsulov to maneuver through the defense. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Опълченците fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Slaveyko Halov should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Francisco Gaos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Slaveyko Halov was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Covarrubias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Slaveyko Halov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Teofan Demerdzhiev made the kick off in the second half. Опълченците's Krum Konsulov got his second yellow card of the match in the 54th minute. Hector Covarrubias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slaveyko Halov having to interfere. When Maksim Ganchev was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. A collision led to Опълченците getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Maksim Ganchev hit a great ball. Francisco Gaos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Slaveyko Halov made a huge save. In the 82nd minute, Hector Covarrubias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Gaos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
