The corner led Grêmio Papão de WC's Edson Faria to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gedeon Káposztás's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andréas Linquist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute, Gedeon Káposztás made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Andréas Linquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After taking down the ball on Grêmio Papão de WC's corner Edson Faria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Gedeon Káposztás kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 55thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio Papão de WC's Andréas Linquist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Gedeon Káposztás managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio Papão de WC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gedeon Káposztás was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Andréas Linquist made a huge save. Daniel Zorita in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Andréas Linquist, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gedeon Káposztás sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 92nd minute Gedeon Káposztás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Grêmio Papão de WC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
