Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nelsinho Koehler took the kick off in the first half of the match. Adriano Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Motta. In the 15th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Adriano Carneiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Adriano Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 17th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Adriano Carneiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amadeu Senna during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MAZER SAF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Thiago Motta fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAZER SAF's protests and gave Thiago Motta a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes MAZER SAF got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Motta. After a rather tough play, MAZER SAF's Thiago Motta got a free kick in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Garro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Adriano Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after MAZER SAF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Cristian Sancho was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, MAZER SAF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Leão to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Carneiro having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Adriano Carneiro in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute Thiago Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Koehler in the 62nd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When MAZER SAF's Nelsinho Koehler in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. MAZER SAF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Nelsinho Koehler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 84th minute.
