Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dionisio Guter ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Guter in the 5th minute of play. Dante Frascuelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Globalización's Alejandro Ascencio got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Frascuelo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Globalización's goalkeeper Dante Frascuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Frascuelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Frascuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Frascuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Globalización's Francisco Ospin quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 26 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Dante Frascuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. If Dionisio Guter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dionisio Guter struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Globalización. The Globalización players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

Globalización's Edelmiro Reno was substituted for Alejandro Ascencio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Dante Frascuelo in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Globalización's attentive Kang Ke Zhen managed to snatch the ball when Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in in the 61st minute of the game. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Urbasa in the 63rd minute of the match. If Artemio Urbasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Globalización's Artemio Urbasa in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Globalización's Dante Frascuelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Globalización from getting a goal against them. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The throw-in from Camilo Gisbert in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Globalización's Francisco Ospin. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
