Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esen Sanal having to interfere. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Esen Sanal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 10 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Esen Sanal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Renato Augusto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Esen Sanal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A well placed Renato Augusto short distance shot in the 21st minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Renato Augusto. But to his dismay, Renato Augusto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 27 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Esen Sanal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Esen Sanal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 30th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Augusto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lei Feng Yan was slow to take the kick. During this time S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's players had a chance to rest. Lei Feng Yan made a great header on S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Esen Sanal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renato Augusto made a kick off. After 52 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lei Feng Yan who took care of the corner kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rdth minute of the game Renato Augusto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Esen Sanal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Augusto, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute Renato Augusto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Krisztián Véber hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Arias in the 79th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esen Sanal having to interfere. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play. Esen Sanal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute of the match.
