Aitor Branca might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aitor Branca ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 19th minute Aitor Branca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aitor Branca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a Dolar Blue Ψ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Dolar Blue Ψ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
