Colombia's Kevin Mastache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 23 minutes into the match, Barcelona de América's Caetano Levandowsky sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barcelona de América's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Perlaza Lena in the 24th minute. Perlaza Lena went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Barcelona de América's Lorenzo Viergol getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 36thth minute of the game Caetano Levandowsky who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Barcelona de América got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Perlaza Lena ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barcelona de América's Tenorio Reiriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tenorio Reiriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Caetano Levandowsky notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes of play, Barcelona de América's Zayvion Ispuzua made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Axel Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Tenorio Reiriz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Zayvion Ispuzua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Barcelona de América made a substitution. Ronaldinho Gentenaar replaced Perlaza Lena. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Viergol in the 71st minute of play. After 72 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Abram Sarmiento. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. The supporters of Barcelona de América booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abram Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Barcelona de América's Félix Torres got a free kick in the 80th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Zayvion Ispuzua came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcelona de América's Elias Pettersson was substituted for Lorenzo Viergol. When Abram Secada came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abram Secada couldn't finish the play. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Pettersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tenorio Reiriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 99th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barcelona de América.
