Jorginho Esteves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Freixa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Chase Erwin came out of the goal and Mario Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso de la Cruz to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolivia's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Fontirroig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chase Erwin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to American Airlines getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Alfonzo Vinson hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goalkeeper Chase Erwin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Fernandino. The crowd rose to their feet as Eduardo Fontirroig kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chase Erwin. That made the score 2-1 in the 38 minute of play. In the 41st minute, Eduardo Fontirroig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of American Airlines booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Clark Holloway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jorginho Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Clark Holloway came free, but Camilo Freixa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clark Holloway scored 2-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Freixa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Chase Erwin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alfonso de la Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clark Holloway came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Camilo Freixa could save by the left post. With a little luck, Bolivia's Camilo Freixa got control of the ball when Clark Holloway tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match, Clark Holloway got a very nice opportunity to score, but Camilo Freixa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Clark Holloway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Alfredo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97thth minute of the game Jorginho Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bolivia's Camilo Freixa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
