The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xavier Zoido helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Sever Tomulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Sever Tomulescu sped through Paraguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. Diederick Englebert struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Universitatea Cluj. In the 30th minute, Paraguay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sever Tomulescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 31st match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Raul Venegas got a free kick in the 34th minute. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihail Pavalescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Sever Tomulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. In the 41st minute, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ernest Inculeț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Inculeț having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Fc Universitatea Cluj made a substitution. Jürgen Tihkan replaced Saul Soputan. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Raul Venegas hit a great ball. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Tomulescu in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Diederick Englebert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a rather tough play, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Ciprian Amitroaiei got a free kick in the 64th minute. Sever Tomulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sever Tomulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Diederick Englebert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute, Diederick Englebert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sever Tomulescu came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Fc Universitatea Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Tomulescu couldn't finish the play. In the 94th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Zoido to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the game, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Diederick Englebert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Fc Universitatea Cluj's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
