Lars Sundström struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Kurdistan. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredric Hybbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Monty Rogers took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alaaddin Solskjær. Alaaddin Solskjær dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lars Sundström hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 17th minute of play forced FC Kurdistan's goalkeeper Alaaddin Solskjær to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Kurdistan's Alaaddin Solskjær played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 18th minute of play. If Lars Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Cassius Byrne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alaaddin Solskjær was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 30 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Yin Yun Fan came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Yin Yun Fan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. USA were winning 0-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Mcdonald got free with Alaaddin Solskjær in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Mcdonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alaaddin Solskjær made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 55th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cassius Byrne kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alaaddin Solskjær. That made the score 0-2 in the 55 minute of play. FC Kurdistan's Yin Yun Fan got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Kurdistan made a substitution. Elliot Nordgren replaced Lars Sundström. In the 68th minute, Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fredric Hybbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. FC Kurdistan's Ubaldo Ritchie was substituted for Roni Ronaldinho. The USA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match.
