Fomac FK's Rikard Smefeldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Erland Söderberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 17th minute. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Fomac FK's goalkeeper Erland Söderberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Paraibano in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Flóki Ólafsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erland Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 30th minute of the match. With a little luck, Fomac FK's Erland Söderberg got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erland Söderberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Armando Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Erland Söderberg. Fomac FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Erland Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Fomac FK got a freekick which was hit by Maxim Tâbârnã. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Paraibano got free with Julio Vera in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 87 played minutes Fomac FK got a freekick which was hit by Rikard Smefeldt. After a rather tough play, Fomac FK's Maxim Tâbârnã got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Fomac FK's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Erland Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Fomac FK defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erland Söderberg. The Fomac FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erland Söderberg should have stopped the shot.
