Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Tiaguinho Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Nelson Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiaguinho Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Sílvio Favoretto hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tiaguinho Mazza. Cöpacabana FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tiaguinho Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cöpacabana FC's Edu Brasil got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cöpacabana FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tadeu de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Tiaguinho Mazza made a huge save. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cöpacabana FC! Tomas Illescas walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 57th minute, Hortêncio Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gugu Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Cöpacabana FC's Tiaguinho Mazza managed to reach the ball for a save. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiaguinho Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 played minutes Cöpacabana FC got a freekick which was hit by Edu Brasil. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu de Sousa in the 80th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Cöpacabana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Dante to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 86th minute of play forced Cöpacabana FC's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiaguinho Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiaguinho Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
