Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute, Alan Gorria fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amir Chandran during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Brighton getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Amir Chandran hit a great ball. After 11 minutes, Alan Gorria made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 18 minutes of play, Brighton's Alan Gorria made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd match minute, Brighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amir Chandran to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 25 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Hitchcock in the 28th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Brighton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudy Lee was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Gorria in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Brighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amir Chandran to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Brighton's Alfred Hitchcock. But to his dismay, Alfred Hitchcock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 39th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garry Vercauteren having to interfere.

Garry Vercauteren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 51st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Hitchcock in the 53rd minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Brighton's Alfred Hitchcock made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Gorria in the 58th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Alan Gorria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alan Gorria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 68 minutes into the match, Brighton's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Garry Vercauteren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Gorria in the 69th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 74th match minute, Brighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amir Chandran to maneuver through the defense. Alan Gorria struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brighton. In the 80th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Alan Gorria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Gorria, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. 91 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Gorria came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Albert Lim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. There was no doubt that Brighton were the better team. Brighton's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
