Erling Franks scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Emílio Diniz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 19th minute of the match 20 DE SETEMBRO got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emílio Diniz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led 20 DE SETEMBRO's Emílio Diniz to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Benê Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Erling Franks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erling Franks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Benê Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iztal Marisancena. In the 43rd minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, 20 DE SETEMBRO's Emílio Diniz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erling Franks made a kick off. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Benê Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Franks in the 57th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute of the match 20 DE SETEMBRO got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emílio Diniz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Franks in the 65th minute of play. Benê Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 66th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Franks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes, Juan Sebastián Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the 20 DE SETEMBRO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. 72 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Diniz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erling Franks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benê Goiano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erling Franks struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 20 DE SETEMBRO. A hard shot 88 in the game by Felix Montenegro from a close distance when the talented Benê Goiano managed to make a qualified save. 20 DE SETEMBRO's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 93rd minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Benê Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Vítor Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, 20 DE SETEMBRO's José Vítor Alves got a free kick in the 95th minute. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but 20 DE SETEMBRO were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
