Napoleon Jajko came out of the goal and Abraham Alguacil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Panama booed when Zjem Cię was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyprian Cwojdak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Tolek Wojtyna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jose Carita got a free kick in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Zjem Cię's Mateo Palacio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Cotilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mateo Palacio in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mateo Palacio in the 69th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Palacio came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Napoleon Jajko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th match minute, Zjem Cię was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslaw Cichowski to maneuver through the defense. Zjem Cię made a substitution. Lino Orešar replaced Jim Morrison. Mateo Palacio's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateo Palacio helped the player get up and apologised.
