Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vinicio Medina kicked off to start the match. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Macho Madrigal in the 14th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Virgilio Rojas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Virgilio Rojas made a huge save. When Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PUNTARENAS F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Medina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Vinicio Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to PUNTARENAS F.C getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ricardo Gutxi hit a great ball. Felix Stenqvist hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Rojas having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinicio Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Medina in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 59th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute of the match, Julian Gaueko got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as PUNTARENAS F.C's Macho Madrigal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-1 after 66 minutes of play. Macho Madrigal scored 1-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. PUNTARENAS F.C's Ciro Teles was substituted for Felix Stenqvist. If Julian Gaueko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Gaueko's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. 87 minutes into the match, PUNTARENAS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Virgilio Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute PUNTARENAS F.C were awarded a corner. Leopoldo Nuñez went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on PUNTARENAS F.C's corner Vinicio Medina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Lacasa quite easily take care of the ball. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Julian Gaueko sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Ortiz in the 94th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Mexico lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
