Radomil Mentis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. In the 36th minute Fryderyk Motowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Kraków1983 booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olgierd Osowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Zenon Niezywy made a huge save.
