The supporters of Bicicleta F.C. booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Antoine Griezmann dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Löv. The goal made the score 1-2. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tony Löv didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.
