Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Petre Benga started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Nuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valer Nuțu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Petre Benga came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 14 minutes, Dinu Pânzaru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mexico booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Pânzaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play. After 27 minutes, Albert Guriță mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Valer Nuțu. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mugurel Hojbota during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Hojbota. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Valer Nuțu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Nuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luca Zorita took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valer Nuțu. Valer Nuțu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Valer Nuțu came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo. But to his dismay, Lautaro Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 80th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Nuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Nuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valer Nuțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 86th minute of play. Valer Nuțu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Lautaro Mancebo missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 94 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Valer Nuțu right hand side.
