A throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game was made by Fred Alegren with Gunnar Klemensson as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Collin in the 7th minute of play forced FC Žalia Giria's goalkeeper Vilmantas Matulas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AIF booed when FC Žalia Giria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Algitas Kimbartas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vilmantas Matulas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Collin in the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgaras Žiemelis during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Žalia Giria fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! FC Žalia Giria:s Vilmantas Matulas showed great skill when he stopped Stefan Collin:s penalty. 18 minutes into the match, FC Žalia Giria's goalkeeper Vilmantas Matulas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bror Skoog. 21 minutes into the game, Saúl Gentiletti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Edgar Brenner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to AIF getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Karl-Michael Bergstedt hit a great ball. Bror Skoog could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Vilmantas Matulas made a huge save. 34 minutes into the match, AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Saúl Gentiletti came free, but Edgar Brenner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Žalia Giria's Jack Grealish was substituted for Vytautas Petkus. If Saúl Gentiletti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Grealish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half FC Žalia Giria were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Collin was the one to do the kick off. Edgar Brenner was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Saúl Gentiletti showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 52 minute of play. After 54 minutes, Bror Skoog mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIF and the FC Žalia Giria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 played minutes AIF got a freekick which was hit by Bror Skoog. If Saúl Gentiletti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Grealish in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Brenner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st match minute, AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Collin to maneuver through the defense. Bror Skoog kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Bror Skoog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilmantas Matulas having to interfere. FC Žalia Giria made a substitution. Augustinas Baltramaitis replaced Saúl Gentiletti. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind AIF's goalkeeper Edgar Brenner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute, the referee gave FC Žalia Giria a penalty. Jack Grealish looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Edgar Brenner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustinas Baltramaitis in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Brenner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 77 minutes, Bror Skoog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bror Skoog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augustinas Baltramaitis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Edgar Brenner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kent Hägglund hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 83 played minutes AIF got a freekick which was hit by Kent Hägglund. In the 84th minute, Augustinas Baltramaitis made a precise shot to the right of Edgar Brenner. AIF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Hikmet Lebib kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Stefan Collin hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Augustinas Baltramaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AIF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Jack Grealish scored to the left of an out of position Edgar Brenner, making the score, 0-5. Edgar Brenner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustinas Baltramaitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Žalia Giria's Avram Lupoaia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edgar Brenner in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
