Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Faria. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Israel Carvalhal took the corner. A collision led to Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Santiago Macena hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Qiu Chuan Ran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 11th minute, Gonzalo Lixandro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 1-0. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Qiu Chuan Ran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Raimundo Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Santiago Macena kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Gonzalo Lixandro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 34 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Israel Carvalhal who took care of the corner kick. 36 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Rodolfo Faria nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Gonzalo Lixandro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Pedro Manzanares skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 41st match minute, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Faria to maneuver through the defense. If Rodolfo Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Lixandro in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gonzalo Lixandro was the one to do the kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Gonzalo Lixandro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Gonzalo Lixandro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Gonzalo Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonzalo Lixandro in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Rodolfo Faria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Colombia's goalie and right to 周平荣. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Colombia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 周平荣 kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 76th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Raimundo Ventura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Lixandro in the 84th minute of play. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Secada in the 86th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Samuel Navarro got a free kick in the 87th minute. Gonzalo Lixandro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rodolfo Faria took the corner. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Ignacio Mastache scored to the left of an out of position Qiu Chuan Ran, making the score, 5-3. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Rodolfo Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Rodolfo Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
