Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 6 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of San Lorenzo 11's Aurelio Astudillo. Aurelio Astudillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Bucciarelli in the 12th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo 11's Hudson Abreu got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Claudio Bucciarelli came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the San Lorenzo 11 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Bucciarelli couldn't finish the play. Matias Chepe scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo 11's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Aurelio Astudillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Boğaç Altuncuoğlu made the kick off in the second half. Felix Montes's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo 11's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st minute of the match Martin Betadur shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 52nd minute Quilo Lujarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Chepe in the 54th minute of the match. The corner led San Lorenzo 11's Martin Betadur to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match, Cristian Sancho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aurelio Astudillo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Bucciarelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Astudillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Astudillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Astudillo having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Bucciarelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Astudillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo 11's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Astudillo came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when San Lorenzo 11 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Griseld Løvaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Griseld Løvaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Aurelio Astudillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
