A collision led to Rockets getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tomás Ferraz hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbson Messias in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. After 46 minutes, Toninho Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rockets and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Róbson Messias got free with Jacobo Nores in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th minute Hector Covarrubias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Rockets booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Róbson Messias tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Rockets were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Paraguay side.
