Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) San Lorenzo 11's Boğaç Altuncuoğlu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boğaç Altuncuoğlu got free with Dante Lacasa in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. San Lorenzo 11's Hudson Abreu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joel Gaona, made in the 6th minute of the game. In the 8th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Astudillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 10 minutes into the game, when Ahmet Sedat Öğüç put in a rough tackle. In the 10th minute, one of San Lorenzo 11:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Lorenzo 11. Aurelio Astudillo had in the 12thth minute some difficulties stopping Joel Gaona's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Aurelio Astudillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Gaona's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Aurelio Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 19th minute of play. San Lorenzo 11's Aurelio Astudillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. Aurelio Astudillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Claudio Bucciarelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Quilo Lujarra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Aurelio Astudillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 38th minute of play. Aurelio Astudillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 40th minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Boğaç Altuncuoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Mexico booed when San Lorenzo 11 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boğaç Altuncuoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 61st minute. The corner ended in Facundo Cadaval almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but San Lorenzo 11's Aurelio Astudillo did a great save. After some careless play in the San Lorenzo 11 defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelio Astudillo. The San Lorenzo 11 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Astudillo should have stopped the shot. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Aurelio Astudillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, San Lorenzo 11's Aurelio Astudillo got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Griseld Løvaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aurelio Astudillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
