Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Róbson Messias took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some careless play in the Rockets defense, Eliseo Noboa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benjamin Mazza. The Rockets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benjamin Mazza should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Ronaldo Gol tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 9 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Rockets players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 9th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute Tales de Carvalho managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Rockets's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Benjamin Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Axel Tasis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Gilvan Chaves capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilvan Chaves really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Raí da Silveira hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbson Messias's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Rockets's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Benjamin Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Ronaldo Gol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rockets's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Gol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benjamin Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Puig went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Rockets booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Róbson Messias in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Róbson Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Tomás Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Mazza was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Mazza made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Lautaro Puig sent off a good shot on target. After 73 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Raí da Silveira. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Benjamin Mazza made a huge save. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Gol in the 76th minute of play. Alan Moruga got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Rockets booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gilvan Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rockets manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Costa Rica to win.
