Lars Norberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute. 12 minutes into the game, spikarna's Atakan Pepe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Sven Nordkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven Nordkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Atakan Pepe struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for spikarna. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atakan Pepe, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Lars Norberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 51st minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a spikarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Kaj Hård tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kaj Hård in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Correa during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of spikarna booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. spikarna's Kaj Hård got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Nordkvist in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute of the match spikarna got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Atakan Pepe ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Olof Hamnberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kaj Hård in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. spikarna's Lars Norberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Atakan Pepe sent off a good shot on target. spikarna's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
