Gaston Laurendi scored 1-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rolando Lopez took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Ioan Voicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 43rd minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ioan Voicu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ioan Voicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Ioan Voicu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A well-hit corner resulted in Alberto Tafalla heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 55 played minutes Club Atlético Temperley got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Correia. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Correia in the 58th minute of the match. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Temperley's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. In the 65th minute, Felix Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Pitin in the 66th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ioan Voicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Correia in the 70th minute of the match. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Temperley from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Ioan Voicu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Mexico's Luca Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Atlético Temperley throughout the match.
