Luo Ke Xiang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Yeşilköyspor's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Acun Tandan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Yeşilköyspor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Acun Tandan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Acun Tandan saved Yeşilköyspor from getting behind. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luo Ke Xiang in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mark Sæbø got free with Julio Vera in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the game, Mark Sæbø cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho suffered a concussion after 46 minutes and had to leave the field. After 46 minutes, Atalan Temizel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yeşilköyspor and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Cristian Sancho. Atalan Temizel kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Sæbø in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Mark Sæbø's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, Yeşilköyspor's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Acun Tandan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Mancebo took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Acun Tandan. If Diego Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
