After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Máté Gelencsér might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Máté Gelencsér ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Máté Gelencsér came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Ádám Bogdán made a huge save. Máté Gelencsér scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 13th minute of the match Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE got a corner. El Salvador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roland László ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Géza Veress came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Géza Veress couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE's Pablo Salomon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. Luis Rubio's late challenge caught a Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The El Salvador fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
