Papillon AC's Jean Van Damme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Justin in the 19th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Leonides Modestio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximino Merexildo. TIBURON F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Modestio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 33rd minute of play forced TIBURON F.C's goalkeeper Maximino Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Van Damme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Saúl Menem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute TIBURON F.C were awarded a corner. Clemente Azeari went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Honorio Justin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jean Van Damme quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorio Justin in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean Van Damme saved Papillon AC from getting behind. In the 39th minute of the match TIBURON F.C got a corner. Papillon AC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clemente Azeari ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zosimo Vadillo in the 41st minute of play forced TIBURON F.C's goalkeeper Maximino Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zosimo Vadillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
