Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 庞剑飞 having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 庞剑飞. 庞剑飞 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. There was no doubt that Paraguay were the better team. Paraguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
