In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kjell Åkesson got free with Julio Vera in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, JKs Talanger's Mihăiţă Vâtcu got a free kick in the 16th minute. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Kjell Åkesson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Supreme Run, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Kjell Åkesson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. Walter Wallander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. JKs Talanger's Kjell Åkesson got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Octavian Basten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Wallander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. JKs Talanger's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kjell Åkesson in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. JKs Talanger's Walter Wallander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save JKs Talanger from getting a goal against them. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Basten came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, JKs Talanger's Walter Wallander got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. JKs Talanger were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Supreme Run took the corner. The corner led JKs Talanger's Octavian Basten to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Kjell Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The JKs Talanger players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
