Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Valdemar Kuoppala kicked off to start the match. Daniel Zorita made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 15thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Edwin van der Sar would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita, in the 16th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdemar Kuoppala's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Edwin van der Sar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. Edwin van der Sar made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Valdemar Kuoppala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Kuoppala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdemar Kuoppala in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Kuoppala in the 56th minute of the match. Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdemar Kuoppala in the 69th minute. If Taisto Pentsinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Manchester United FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match, Eero Uusipaavalniemi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Eero Uusipaavalniemi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdemar Kuoppala went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Taisto Pentsinen charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Manchester United FC to win.
