Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Taisto Pentsinen in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Markus Vähäsavo got a free kick in the 15th minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Edwin van der Sar made a huge save. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taisto Pentsinen's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United FC from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edwin van der Sar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Kuoppala in the 34th minute of the match. Manchester United FC were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eero Uusipaavalniemi took the corner. Edwin van der Sar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 37 minute of play. In the 40th minute Taisto Pentsinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Edwin van der Sar in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdemar Kuoppala to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Taisto Pentsinen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manchester United FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 58th minute. The corner ended in Eero Uusipaavalniemi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Alfred Laulaja hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eero Uusipaavalniemi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edwin van der Sar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute of the match, Alfred Laulaja tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 70th minute Valdemar Kuoppala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 76 minutes Manchester United FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Edwin van der Sar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Laulaja didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Edwin van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taisto Pentsinen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Taisto Pentsinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Manchester United FC to leave the ground with a draw.
