Peru's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Sulo Montaña scored to the left of an out of position Rolando Noboa, making the score, 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but George Buturugã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after LOI's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this George Buturugã quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 12th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buturugã saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. LOI's George Buturugã played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 29th minute of play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sulo Montaña got free with Rolando Noboa in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute Sulo Montaña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaan Öztanır in the 44th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Prats lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of LOI:s goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luz Tejedor to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, LOI's goalkeeper George Buturugã had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. 56 minutes into the match, LOI's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but George Buturugã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaan Öztanır in the 65th minute of the match. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. LOI's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
