The throw-in from Primitivo Andino in the 64th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Du Lei Bin. Primitivo Andino's late challenge caught a Sport Lisboa e Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Sport Lisboa e Benfica getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Trey Easley hit a great ball. Jean Britton took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Britton came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Andino made in the 90th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Felix Montenegro however managed to control. In the 92nd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Herb Good. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Herb Good showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
