With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. 39 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Sulo Montaña came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Bektaş Veli Ülgü threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sulo Montaña in the 43rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

A wasted opportunity for LOI. 61 minutes into the game, one of Colombia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ahmet Hamdi Ortan walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Sulo Montaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Pedro Manzanares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sulo Montaña scored 1-5 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. LOI's Metin Semi was substituted for Kaan Öztanır.
