Ove Anselius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 32 minutes into the match, Gunnah FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Ove Anselius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ted Boshuis struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gunnah FC. 37 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ted Boshuis to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Arnaldo Rolado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After 55 minutes, Ted Boshuis made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Ted Boshuis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ted Boshuis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-5. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Rolado, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Gunnah FC's Eric Löfkvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ted Boshuis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Rolado, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the game, Ted Boshuis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-5. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ove Anselius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
