Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Eero Grönholm in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 8th match minute, FC Grivata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lyuben Dimiev to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Eero Grönholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eero Grönholm got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thomas Sørensen quite easily take care of the ball. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zahari Kiratzov, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Eero Grönholm in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Sørensen saved FC Grivata from getting behind. Eero Grönholm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Zahari Kiratzov struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Grivata. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eero Grönholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Eero Grönholm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Grivata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eero Grönholm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zahari Kiratzov in the 54th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Ivan Grivekov heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Thomas Sørensen made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eero Grönholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th match minute, FC Grivata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lyuben Dimiev to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eero Grönholm in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zahari Kiratzov in the 85th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Zahari Kiratzov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
