If Adrian Antoniu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Vrejiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristinel Vrejiu made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 23 minutes, Mihăiţă Cristea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Mahmudie and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador's Luz Palacio was substituted for Daniel Zorita. After 25 played minutes UFC Mahmudie got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Cristea. In the 26th minute of the match Felix Montenegro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristinel Vrejiu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 33 played minutes UFC Mahmudie got a freekick which was hit by Octavian Crăiniceanu. 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luz Palacio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristinel Vrejiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 39 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 40th minute of the match Denis Mardarie shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Octavian Crăiniceanu's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octavian Crăiniceanu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, UFC Mahmudie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavian Crăiniceanu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, UFC Mahmudie's Cristinel Vrejiu got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luz Palacio to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the UFC Mahmudie defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristinel Vrejiu. The UFC Mahmudie fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristinel Vrejiu should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, UFC Mahmudie's Dinu Olariu got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Julio Vera was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Adrian Antoniu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adrian Antoniu really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Maxim Lupeanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristinel Vrejiu. Cristinel Vrejiu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. UFC Mahmudie's Albert Rădvan was substituted for Denis Mardarie. After 73 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. In the 81stth minute of the game Claudiu Coidum who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luz Palacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Claudiu Coidum sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudiu Coidum's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Palacio in the 95th minute of play forced UFC Mahmudie's goalkeeper Cristinel Vrejiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Palacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
