When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Eddy Rüegsegger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hasan Kabakchi in the 34th minute of play. Hasan Kabakchi scored 0-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taha Günden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Taha Günden despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Taha Günden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Lautaro Mancebo hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the ŞAHŞEHRİYAR FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mexico.
