But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Pancha Futbol Club's Gilbert Cieliczka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pancha Futbol Club's Alfredo Clodio got a free kick in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fan Qi Bin. Gilbert Cieliczka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Sultan-Mehmet De Paula had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sultan-Mehmet De Paula was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sultan-Mehmet De Paula got free with Dante Lacasa in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Primitivo Godoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0.
