Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ufuk Ecemiş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Küçükdere SK's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Boğaç İley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boğaç İley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Kürşat Veysel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kürşat Veysel in the 26th minute of play. Kürşat Veysel might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kürşat Veysel ran back to his position shaking his head. Boğaç İley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kürşat Veysel in the 39th minute. In the 39th minute, Kürşat Veysel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nazmi Perkin in the 57th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Küçükdere SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ufuk Ecemiş didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nazmi Perkin was slow to take the kick. During this time Küçükdere SK's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Kürşat Veysel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Boğaç İley having to make a save. When Cafer Uygur fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 85th minute of play forced Küçükdere SK's goalkeeper Boğaç İley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kürşat Veysel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
