To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mariano Flores. That made the score 0-5 in the 56 minute of play. BIAMAR's Juliano Santos was substituted for Rui Monteiro. In the 61st minute, Carlos Pimentel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mariano Flores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. BIAMAR's Mariano Flores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save BIAMAR from getting a goal against them. Ecuador played a much better game than BIAMAR and deserved their victory. The BIAMAR players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
