Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdieri's Edoardo Rinaldi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. 11 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Alberto Andreola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Andreola came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer. But to his dismay, Aaron Alcocer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Cara didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute of the match Dennis Berardo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Valdieri's Dennis Berardo. But to his dismay, Dennis Berardo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 36th minute, Emiliano Cara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Andreola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Berardo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Valdieri's Dennis Berardo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 44th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benito Sanz but with some difficulty. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edoardo Rinaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Berardo in the 52nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Alfonso Aloisi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 59 minutes into the game, Alexander Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valdieri the free kick. The supporters of Valdieri booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 60 played minutes, Valdieri's Dennis Berardo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Valdieri reached it. 62 minutes into the game, Edoardo Rinaldi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Aloisi in the 64th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edoardo Rinaldi in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. When Valdieri's Edoardo Rinaldi in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. In the 73rd minute, Dennis Berardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Berardo in the 76th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute of the match Dennis Berardo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Valdieri booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute, Alfonso Aloisi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfonso Aloisi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edoardo Rinaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Aloisi in the 91st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96th play minutes Edoardo Rinaldi shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Valdieri fully deserved thier win.
